Showing Pugs is a huge challenge. It
takes years of planned breeding & preparation to get your Pug ready to go into the show ring a potential
winner.

"Nikki" started her show career out in the
tough Greater Chicago & Southern Wisconsin circuit before coming to the Midwest Plains circuit. Nikki racked up many
wins against stiff competition, including a Best of Breed in Lawrence, when her show career was ended after being
stepped on by a horse. Despite a speedy recovery from a fractured hip & therapy, Nikki continued to
limp and she was retired from the ring before finishing. She's stopped limping now and, sometimes, we think about entering
this entertaining beauty back in the ring as a veteran.

Konza Walkin' After Midnight

Konza Strut'n Miss Lizzie) "Patsy" started her show career in Open Puppy in Kansas City August 2006. Her first
class, at 8 months, was incredible with everyone amazed that she did so well her first time in the ring. She has that
wonderful "Look At Me Personality" of her granddam, Nikki. She has a thick, soft, inky black color, level topline, well shaped
head with deep wrinkles and well conditioned body make her stand out in the show ring.
Its so hard to win over the judges
with a black but we have great hopes with this black baby. Patsy is so good, we're probably going to send her to a professional
handler to give her better chances of finishing.
We showed Pat at the Spirit of St Louis
Pug Club Specialty & Gateway Toy Specialty March 2007. No points but both of the judges seemed to like her but we
all agreed that she needs work on her table & ring manners! They had nice compliments on her excellent head,
coat and structure.

"Tiger" is showing side by side with her half sisters,
Patsy & Sally. After her rough start at St Joe, MO Feb 2006, Tiger won her Bred
by Exhibitor class in Columbia, MO
March 2006 beating her half sister, Sally & another well
bred bitch. Later that night, Tiger won her B Match Bred by Exhititor Class & went on to represent Pugs for the Toy
group.
Tiger is a real pro in the ring now but still likes
to "sight see" while in the ring much to Gary's
& my frustrations while stacking in the lineup for the judge. She loves to freestack & look at the judge. She'll prance
around the ring but like all mischevious Pugs, likes to misbehave at the worst possible moment!
With Mr. Everett Dean, Jr. judging,
we took Best of Winners at Kansas City. In
Salina, we
took reserve Winners Bitch. The Judges like her energy & attitude.
We will continue to show Tiger
at local shows.

"Sally" took her first Major toward
her championship at St Joseph Kennel Club Dog Show 03 February 2007 under the fine judging of Ms. Janice Earl! We're
were so excited to receive this honor over many nice Pugs showing that day.
We don’t have any current plans on showing Sally again but you
never know, she's still young & beautiful!

KONZA PUGS have been showing since 1997 starting with CH SHERFAMES SONSHINE RARE BLACKPEARL
(CH Royal A Irish Cream of Bonjor x New Albany Belle), who was co-owned with Rhea Murray & in 1998 with SONSHINE
TWOMOR BAXTER BLACK (CH Wissellwood's Horton Hearsa Who x Ju-Mar Black Pearl of the Sea). Both of these wonderful black
Pugs are still residing here with us in Kansas enjoying their autumn days basking in the sunshine and playing in mudpuddles.

Rhea Murray, Sonshine Pugs, Endeavor, WI, instilled that "showbug" in us and mentored us several years,
in addition to allowing us the honor of owning some of her Pugs to start our foundation for KONZA PUGS. Thank
